The climate crisis can no longer be ignored.

We, the customers of Starbucks, call on Starbucks to ban hydrofluorocarbons from your refrigeration and cooling systems. HFCs can have 9,000 times more global warming power than CO2, and they are leaking into the atmosphere more and more every day. That needs to stop.

In an open letter, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson says “Today, more than ever, the world needs leadership in environmental sustainability.” Banning HFCs is an important step in the right direction.

Starbucks is already an environmental leader, but it needs to do even more– not only for the health of our planet, but also for global health, justice and the survival of future generations.
