The world’s scientists are clear: cutting emissions alone won’t save us. To keep our future safe we also need to remove gigatons of carbon from the atmosphere — and one of the most effective ways to do that is by restoring mangrove forests.
Every mangrove planted does more than absorb carbon. It shields coastlines from increasingly severe storm surge, provides nursery habitat for fish and marine life, filters pollutants from coastal waters, and helps stabilise the soil that anchors entire ecosystems.

How does it work?
- Place your order. Complete and submit the order form above, including your recipient’s details and the date you’d like them notified.
- Your recipient is notified. We’ll send them an email telling them about your gift. See sample.
- We purchase the trees. At the beginning of each calendar quarter, we purchase the promised number of trees from Earthlungs.
- The trees are planted. Earthlungs pays local families to restore the mangroves. Read our interview with Victor Mwanga, leader of Earthlungs.
- We publish confirmation. A public record shows that we made the promised purchases.

The carbon figure uses Climate Action Now’s own working estimate of roughly 200 kg of CO₂ drawn down per tree over its life — the same figure behind our Trees for Travel calculator. Lifetime sequestration varies with species, site, and survival rate.
