Why Buy Trees?
Trees clean our air, protect wildlife, and naturally absorb about 30% of global greenhouse gas emissions each year. (WWF, ICUN, UN)
But in many parts of the world, deforestation is proceeding at an alarming rate. Our world is losing the very forests that keep our planet in balance.
That’s why Climate Action Now launched our Trees for Life program — to help concerned citizens like you restore what has been lost, and leave a legacy of living, healthy forests that clean our air, protect wildlife, and stabilize the climate.
Your purchase helps rebuild forests in Kenya, where farmers plant and protect native trees that will grow for decades. The trees are planted under contract with the Kenyan Forest Service to help reforest 5.1 million hectares, a significant component of Kenya’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement (PDF).
These trees are protected by subsistence farmers who plant and care for them. They will live out their natural lives, drawing carbon from the atmosphere and creating habitats for countless species. Learn more about our program.
Why Climate Action Now?
Since we launched the app on Earth Day 2021, users have taken over 4,321,000 actions, sent over 3,649,000 messages to political and business leaders urging climate action, and planted over 602,000 trees.
