THANK YOU!

It wasn’t the outcome we wanted or worked for.

But you and so many others worked tirelessly for something better. We did everything we could, which is all we can do. And that’s why our priority this week is to acknowledge your effort with a THANK YOU!

CANdoers completed more than 35,000 “Get Out the Vote” actions. These included everything from contacting newspapers about the climate stakes of the election to sharing information about key races on social media. Nearly 800 users urged The Washington Post and Los Angeles Times to reconsider their refusal to endorse a candidate for president. Many of you canvassed, wrote letters, gave voters rides to the polls, and phone banked all the way through Election Day.

Not once did you stop making your voices heard or advocating for the election of climate champions at every level of government. Every time there was a call to action, you rose to the occasion.

And while you may not feel like celebrating right now, there are some wins worth mentioning. Here are just a few:

Take the time you need to mourn what is and what could’ve been. Check-in with your loved ones. Be there for the people in your life who feel especially helpless now.

And know that there are still ways for us to win a better future. The power and momentum we’ve built as a movement haven’t suddenly disappeared.

We will meet the moment, do what we can, and face what lies ahead together.
