A WEEK OF GRATITUDE

We have more reasons to be hopeful than we think. From unprecedented growth in clean energy and EV manufacturing to legal victories against big polluters—not to mention leaders across the country reaffirming their climate commitments just this month—promising climate action is happening every day all over the world.

Hope and gratitude go hand in hand. Here are just a few things we’re feeling grateful for as we approach the end of the year:

  • The Biden Administration. What a group of heroes! Between the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law alone, they have achieved more for our climate than any other administration in American history. Even if Trump and his team roll back many of these policies and regulations, it will be difficult for them to stop the momentum created by the Biden team.
  • Climate communicators—the fearless individuals who do the hard work of putting the climate crisis in perspective for the rest of us, whether it’s through a lens of practicality, hope, or both. Bill McKibben, Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, and Katharine Hayhoe are just a few that we have long-admired!
  • Our volunteers. Almost every action you see and take in the CAN app has been written by an amazing volunteer action creator. They freely give us the gift of their time to support our mission of scaling up citizen advocacy and make it possible for us to keep our finger on the pulse of so many climate issues. There would be no Climate Action Now without them!
  • Our CANdoer community. Since the app’s official launch on Earth Day 2021, our user base has expanded to all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. We’ve hosted a total of 53 Action Parties and webinars. And just this week, we hit two major milestones: 3 MILLION total actions taken and 300,000 trees planted! This growth is thanks to all of you taking action regularly, telling your friends and networks about the app, and attending our events!

One thing is certain: progress is possible with this community on our side. That’s why we’ll keep meeting the moment with our actions, holding on to hope, and making a difference where we can.

We are so grateful to each and every one of you for joining us on this journey!
