About This Gift
- Liz purchased these trees on your behalf through Climate Action Now’s Trees for Travel program to reverse emissions from an airplane trip.
- Climate Action Now pays to pay subsistence farmers to restore Kenya’s national forests with indigenous tree species. The trees will not be harvested and they are not traded in the carbon offset market. They will live out their natural lives, drawing carbon from the atmosphere and creating habitats for countless species. Learn more about our program.
Scientists worldwide say that reducing emissions alone cannot preserve a livable world. We must also draw gigatons of CO2 from the atmosphere in the next few decades, some of which have been put there through air travel.
Restoring our forests is critical to this effort. Not only do forests sequester tons of carbon, but they also create much of the oxygen we breathe, preserve eco-diversity, rejuvenate the soil, and provide shade in a warming world.
