ENOUGH!

21 months. That’s how long it took to strip away decades of climate protections.

26 days. That’s how long until we get a say in what happens next.

We’ve covered the Trump administration’s climate record one headline at a time. Before you vote- as if you needed more reasons to vote- we want to remind you how it affects you personally.

  • Your protection. Justice Department civil environmental enforcement fell about 80%. Agencies were told to steer away from criminal charges for breaking environmental rules, and the department sued states over their own climate laws. The tools your town uses to plan for floods and fires are disappearing.

And, perhaps most crucially, the EPA rescinded the endangerment finding, the legal foundation for federal regulation of greenhouse gases from vehicles and a cornerstone of U.S. climate policy.

That’s a lot to lose. But it’s not necessarily lost for good.

Rules can be rewritten. Funding can be restored. A federal appeals court has already upheld the stronger soot limits, and twenty-five state attorneys general are in court fighting the endangerment repeal. What we need now are people in office who’ll fight just as hard.

On November 3, we choose who represents us, from Congress all the way down to, in many states, the utility commission that sets our rates. The Environmental Voter Project estimates that millions of people who care about the environment sit out midterms. That’s more than enough votes to swing a close race. We just need to show up.

So make a plan. Check your registration. Vote early. Bring three people with you.

Twenty-one months of damage. One day to say ENOUGH!!!
